Simulation Driven Development of a New Car Chassis

We present how we are working on the basics of a new chassis for our prototype car. This contains basic calculations and simulation. At first we are confronted with the problem of where to put the parts of our car and the driver. Then, knowing the basic characteristics, we define the maximum dimensions and loads so that OptiStruct can propose a solution for the optimized shape. We then design a possible way of building it and later on simulate the load cases in order to see whether the solution is suitable.

As second part of our presentation we would like you to see an example we really built. We will show the development steps. We are going to bring the prototypes with us. The interesting part ist he development process we use working with selective laser sintering.
