Integrating Simulated Loads with Measurements and Strength Testing

In vehicle development it is important to determine the service loads acting on subassemblies of the vehicle. Accurate loads can be used for fatigue testing or simulation, service interval recommendation or optimization. The service loads can be characterized in different ways: static or dynamic, proportional or multi-axial. Physical measurements on prototypes or customer vehicles are indispensable in this context, but the efficiency of the data can be greatly enhanced by mapping the measurements to simulation models. This is especially true for loads that are not static and proportional, such as those experienced by truck cabins or chassis components.
