Development of a Sequential Shifter for a Racing Automotive Gearbox

MOTION Solve is chosen to validate the kinematic behaviour of the system. The Contact functionalities are used to simulate the gear shifting command.

The movement transformations inside the system are realized through the contact of fingers inside tracks. The tracks shape is optimized with the help of simulation. The contact features are also used to model the gear selection pawl.

This system is under development, the design will be finalized by September, 2009.
